Years ago it would have taken sheets of carbon paper to replicate what was written on the top sheet. Carbon paper is still used in certain receipt books but they can produce messy results. When forms need duplicating and mess isn`t required, Ncr paper can prove to be very useful. Books that are made with Ncr properties can copy from one page to the next without any type of fuss. That`s because Ncr paper is a non-carbon paper that still produces exact copies from the original. The paper works because three sheets are involved that all contain various coatings. When the first sheet is pressed upon, a reaction occurs between the coatings, causing an imprint to be left on the third sheet. Normally its forms that use the Ncr process but invoice books can use themm as well. They are the ideal products to test the capabilities of Ncr paper and it doesn`t let them down. Accurate records can be kept when Ncr books are used and smudges have become things of the past. Years ago carbon was popular when duplicates had to be made but Ncr paper has taken over from its carbon comrade and it does the job without making a mess.
